The iPhone 20 will have larger displays than the current Pro and Pro Max models, with a leaker insisting 6.4-inch and 7-inch screens are being prototyped.
The Pro models of iPhone have long played host to the largest screens in Apple's iPhone empire. Though the crown will almost certainly be taken by the iPhone Fold on its release, it seems Apple isn't finished with making the Pro Max as Max as possible.
According to a Tuesday Weibo post by serial leaker Digital Chat Station, Apple is prototyping two new screen sizes. The leaker says that one, measuring 6.4 inches, is probably going to be used on the anniversary iPhone 20 Pro.
Digital Chat Station also mentions a second display, measuring 7 inches in size. This is presumably for the iPhone 20 Pro Max, a larger alternative that follows the same Pro iPhone pattern.
For reference, the iPhone 17 Pro has a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max has a 6.9-inch version. The rumored sizes would be a very small increase for each model, but still noticeable for anyone holding the device.
The leaker adds that while the size of the displays will increase, the proportions will remain the same. That refers to the aspect ratio of the display, meaning it will be a scaled-up version, not made taller or wider than usual.
The post concludes by saying a "new bezel-less quad-curved design" may be adopted.
A bunch of repeated claims
The post does hint at what will be coming up with the 20th-anniversary iPhone. But at the same time, it's not really sharing much new that we weren't previously told about or could come from an educated guess.
Digital Chat Station previously raised the prospect of a 7-inch display on July 21, insisting that Apple was using a 6.96-inch display, This is close enough for Apple's marketing teams to count as 7 inches.
The same account also made a claim in April that Apple was sourcing a "four-micro-curve" OLED panel from Samsung for the model. This would mean the creation of a slightly curved display, making it both easier to hold while reducing distortion for the glass-heavy design.
That all said, Weibo leakers aren't known for their accuracy, and frequently have been hit-and-miss with their claims. Digital Chat Station has a reasonable track record among the group, but as always, treat such claims with skepticism until nearer to the anniversary itself.
