A leaker with a mixed but usually better than average track record, is now making the absurd claim of having already handled the iPhone 18 Pro Max in a store, and has made a video to back it up. The problem is, demo units aren't in stores yet, and won't be for some time.
With such a short time to go before Apple unveils its new iPhones, there's already been a carrier posting optimistic details of the lineup. Now leaker yeux1122 has posted a video purporting to show them using the iPhone 18 Pro Max in a store.
Specifically, they use the Dark Cherry version and a light blue one. They then compare their existing iPhone 17 Pro Max to the pair of them, all in 14 seconds.
That time raises the Bigfoot question. If you have a camera and Bigfoot in front of you, you don't just take one shot or record a few seconds.

You also don't only film when its back is turned. This video does briefly show the front screen of one of the iPhones, but of course it's off. And of course a store mounts its demo models with the screen facing the mount.
A lot of effort
Beside the backward-facing display mount in this video, there is a reasonably well-produced retail price sticker. It says that these models being shown have 256GB of storage, and lists a price for them both.
That price appears to be for monthly hire purchase in Russian rubles. If so, it converts to around $123 per month, or more than double what the current 256GB iPhone 17 Pro Max costs per month in the US.
Apple doesn't sell iPhones in Russia, only third-party resellers do, so it's quite possible that the price is higher than anywhere else. That's the only legitimate thing about this video.
But this is just another fake and we can expect more of them in the run up to the announcement on September 9, 2026.
