About Apple Firmwares

Apple Firmwares is an independent reference for Apple software. Since 2020 we have helped people find the right firmware file for their iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV and HomePod — whether they are fixing a device stuck in recovery mode, installing a clean copy of iOS or keeping an archive of older versions.

Today we track 247 devices and 15,642 firmware files. The catalogue updates itself every few minutes: new releases, beta builds and changes in Apple’s signing status show up automatically.

Where the data comes from

  • Firmware metadata and signing status: the public ipsw.me API.
  • Beta and release announcements: Apple’s official developer releases feed.
  • Downloads: always Apple’s own servers. We never host, mirror or modify firmware.

Independence

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple Inc. The site is funded by advertising, which keeps every download free and unlimited.
