Adobe has come up with another way to make generative AI unavoidable, with its new Slack integration allowing workers to create prompts from the communications tool.
As a productivity suite, Adobe has been hard at work making sure that everyone knows you can use it with AI. In its bid to make it as impossible to ignore as possible, it's now infiltrated Slack.
Launched on Wednesday, Adobe for Slack is an integration for the business communications app. As you would expect, it's a way for Slack users to start making images and documents directly from the messaging tool.
To get started, users must open a direct message with Slackbot within Slack, select the Apps button, then Manage Apps, followed by the plus icon next to Adobe.
Once enabled, users can start a conversation with Slackbot and call for Adobe to create something. For example, "@Adobe Make a poster for our newest seasonal collection."
The integration will then use Adobe's Creative Suite, which includes Firefly, Photoshop, Premiere, and Illustrator, to come up with proposals.
Rather than just the prompt, users can also refer to conversations with others as well as shared files to help produce the content. A conversation with Janet from Marketing about the new line of widgets can be turned into a fall product catalog PDF.
It doesn't just have to use Slack as its data source. Users can say to check any existing Creative Cloud assets for relevant content from previous projects, including searching by subject, style, or mood.
Adobe for Slack is available globally today, for subscribers of Slack Business+ and Enterprise+ teams. It is usable on desktop, mobile, and through Slack's browser interface too.
