Apple blows away Wall Street guess-work again with record-breaking earnings

Apple has reported its third-quarter financials for 2026, posting revenue of $109.4 billion, in what is the last full quarter under the control of current CEO Tim Cook.

The third quarter of Apple's financial calendar is usually the quietest of the year. For 2026, it's still something for Apple's investors to shout about.

During the quarter, Apple hit revenue of $109.4 billion, which is up 16 percent year-over-year.

The Wall Street consensus as of July 29 was an average of $108.96 billion forecast.

On a product category basis, Apple'siPhone revenue of $54.25 billion is up from $44.58 billion in Q3 2025. Mac revenue of $10.35 billion is up from $8.05 billion one year ago.

The iPad revenue of $6.19 billion is down from $6.58 billion in last year's figures. Wearables, Home, and Accessories went from $7.40 billion in Q3 2025 to $7.88 billion now.

Services has been an ever-reliable growth center for Apple, and this quarter is no different. In Q3 2025, Services hit $27.42 billion, but one year later, it's $30.73 billion.

The quarter was full of challenges for Apple, caused by the ongoing memory crisis. Apple eventually had to raise prices across most of its catalog. The iPhone 17 generation was spared, but it is probable that the iPhone 18 range will get a price rise.

During Q2, CFO Kevan Parekh forecast expectations of revenue growth at between 14% and 17% year-over-year, and a gross margin between 47.5% and 48.5%.

For the results, Apple's board of directors declared a cash dividend of $0.27 per share of common stock.

While the results will be the main talking point for the quarterly call with analysts, Apple won't be able to get away from discussing the impending transfer of power. On September 1, Tim Cook will become executive chairman, with hardware chief John Ternus taking the reins.

On the numbers, Cook called out the double-digit growth in iPhone, Mac, and Services, and in all geographic statements. Parekh added that the installed base has reached a new all-time-high across all major categories, too.

As always, AppleInsider will be listening in to the call and reporting what is discussed, be it financial or people reminiscing about Cook's legacy.
