Apple and Major League Baseball have announced the first games of their new season, and in the US and certain other countries, many will be streamed in Immersive Video to Apple Vision Pro users.
Apple has been criticized both for how little immersive video it does, and how poorly it promotes the feature. But in conjunction with Major League Baseball (MLB), it has now announced that four MLB games in August and September will be streamed live in Apple Immersive.
"For the first time, baseball fans can take in all the action of 'Friday Night Baseball' live in Apple Immersive on Apple Vision Pro, leveraging 3D video recorded in 8K with a 180-degree field of view," says Apple in a statement. "On August 28, viewers with Vision Pro will experience the iconic Red Sox vs. Yankees rivalry from unique camera angles that place viewers right in the game, immersed in the drama of each at-bat, the celebrations in the dugout after a big hit, close plays at the outfield wall, and more."
So far, Apple and MLB have announced seven games from August 28, 2026 to September 18, and five of them will be in Apple Immersive video. They will be streamed live in the Apple TV app on Apple Vision Pro in these countries and territories:

- Hong Kong
- Japan
- South Korea
- Taiwan
- UK
Viewers watching the immersive video versions will get exclusive commentary from Paul Severino, Xavier Scruggs, and Michelle Marguax. There will also be "dedicated replays... and an immersive graphics package that includes team lineups and stats floating in the viewer's space."
The live coverage will continue during breaks in the game. Apple says that's to bring viewers the full stadium experience, with ambisonic microphones recording in Spatial Audio.
It follows Apple's successful streaming of the NBA Lakers game in January 2026. The new MLB immersive games are not, though, being shot on iPhone as Apple did with the LA Galaxy game in May 2026.
