iPhone 18 Pro pre-orders begin Saturday to avoid 9/11

iPhone 18 Pro pre-orders begin Saturday to avoid 9/11

Apple will avoid launching pre-orders of its latest iPhones on 9/11 by having them begin in the United States on Saturday September 12.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max have been revealed by Apple during its "Surprise and Shine" event. While price hikes and limited RAM supplies are sure to make this an interesting iPhone season, we now know when eager customers can place an order.

Both new iPhone models will be available for pre-order at the same time on Saturday, September 12, presumably at midnight Pacific. Normally Apple would open up pre-orders on the Friday following an event, but that would have fallen on the anniversary of 9/11.

It isn't the most ideal time, as that means Eastern Time customers will have to wait until 3 a.m. to place their orders.

The iPhone Duo is expected to be revealed later in the event with pre orders beginning at the same time.

If you're planning on buying an iPhone for delivery on release day, be sure to prepare as much as you can ahead of time. Apple allows customers to pre-configure and save the model they'd like for easy checkout.

However, with the new Apple Upgrade program going into place, it may add some complications to the preparation and checkout process. It will be a difficult year for those hoping for day-one release models.

iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 while iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299. Initial shipments and in-store availability begins on September 18.
